  19.   Fractals are bizarre mathematical objects possessing an infinitely 
  20.   detailed structure. Fractal geometry has become increasingly popular in 
  21.   recent years because it often does a better job of modeling nature than 
  22.   ordinary high school geometry.

  24.   FractalSave is a Windows 3.1 screen saver which uses fractal-based 
  25.   patterns to construct scenes of astonishing complexity and beauty.

  50. INSTALLATION

  52.   To install FractalSave, simply copy the FWSS.SCR and FWSS.HLP files into 
  53.   your Windows directory. The other files may be copied into any convenient
  54.   directory. Sample commands are given below.

  56.   Installing from a distribution disk in drive A: to a directory on C:
  57.  
  58.     C:                          ; change to C drive
  59.     CD \                        ; change to root directory
  60.     MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
  61.     CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
  62.     COPY A:*.*                  ; copy the files
  63.     COPY FWSS.* \WINDOWS        ; copy main files into Windows directory

  65.   Installing from a ZIP file in C:\DOWNLOAD to a directory on C:
  66.  
  67.     C:                          ; change to C: drive 
  68.     CD \                        ; change to root directory
  69.     MD FRACWIN                  ; create a new directory off root
  70.     CD FRACWIN                  ; change to the new directory
  71.     COPY \DOWNLOAD\FRCWIN.ZIP   ; copy zip file
  72.     PKUNZIP FRCWIN              ; unarchive the files
  73.     DEL FRCWIN.ZIP              ; delete copy of archive
  74.     COPY FWSS.* \WINDOWS        ; copy main files into Windows directory

  76.   Once you have copied the files, start Windows and configure the
  77.   FractalSave screen saver. FractalSave is installed and configured 
  78.   just like the screen savers provided with Windows 3.1.

  80.   1. Select the 'Main' Program Group.
  81.   2. Select the 'Control Panel' icon.
  82.   3. Select the 'Desktop' icon from the 'Control Panel' window.
  83.   4. Select the 'Screen Saver Name' combo box from the 'Desktop' dialog box.
  84.   5. Choose 'FractalSave' from the list of installed screen savers.

  86.   6. a) Choose 'OK' to accept FractalSave's default settings.

  88.      b) Choose 'Setup' to customize and/or learn more about the program.

  90.   7. If you choose 'OK' above, you're done! If not, select the 'Help' button
  91.      in the 'FractalSave Screen Saver Setup' dialog box. This will open
  92.      FractalSave's help file, which contains detailed information on configuring
  93.      the program. When you're done exploring the help, select 'OK' to close the
  94.      'FractalSave Screen Saveer Setup' dialog box, then 'OK' again to close the 
  95.      'Desktop' dialog box.

  102. DIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THE USE OF FRACTALSAVE

  111. REGISTRATION INFORMATION

  113. FractalSave is a shareware program. You may  copy and distribute it
  114. freely, and use it without charge for a period of 30 days. If you
  115. continue to use the program beyond the initial evaluation period,
  116. please register it.

  118. Registration entitles you to technical support in the program's use, 
  119. notice of and reduced price for any upgrades, and that warm feeling of 
  120. personal satisfaction that comes from doing the proper and noble thing.

  122. The registration fee for FractalSave is $19.95 (US). As a registration
  123. bonus, the companion FractalWeave program is included free with 
  124. registration of FractalSave. DOS versions of both programs are also
  125. available.
